Peach + Gray :: Color Inspiration

As the winter weather comes along, spring and summer brides and getting ready to choose colors and get started with all their planning. One of my favorite color combos is peach and gray. It is subtle and elegant to go with any sunny day! There are different shades of both colors, so you can really play around with color combinations. Gray is an easy to work with natural for both guys suits and girls dresses. Peach is a soft accent to any flower arrangement and tablescape or bridesmaid dress. This color combo can go great with a turquoise or dark purple to add some more color to the pallet. Enjoy!

Orange, Pink & Yellow :: Color Inspiration

Orange is a hot color for this spring and has so many great color combinations, one I especially love is the combination of Orange, Pink and Yellow. Orange comes in so many shades and works well in florals, accents, dresses or anything else. Show your crazy side with bright orange or keep it classic with light orange. Almost every shade of pink and yellow with work orange and allow for sunny pops of color! You can also use oranges {the fruit}, grapefruit and lemons with your color scheme in vases or as the holders for your escort cards!  These colors are the epitome of spring and summer and can be used in some many different ways! Leomonade and pink lemonade, orange, yellow and pink florals, ribbons, ect. I love these colors together and I hope you get some great inspiration!

Color of the Week: Gray

Although we had a glimmer of spring fever cast upon the Washington DC area, we are now back into the eternal gray sky and snow. Even though I am so ready for spring to come, it got me thinking about the great addition gray makes to spring weddings. In the cloudy sky, a gray overcast may mean sadness and gloominess, gray in a wedding can be a great neutral to a pop of color. Gray is a great complimentary color and normally goes well with many different colors and accents. Gray looks great on almost every skin tone  (for your bridesmaids) and fits into different venues color schemes (walls and crazy carpets). Gray is also a very natural color if you are doing a spring outdoors wedding or trying to connect with mother nature. Here is a look at some of the great gray color combos for weddings or events. Color of the Week: Yellow

I am starting to feel that dragging feeling you get when winter seems like it will never end! I found some cute yellow shirts in my closet and started to automatically think of spring again. What a beautiful color for spring and summer weddings. I feel like yellow makes everyone happier and smile. Yellow pairs perfectly with so many colors that you can really make it your own: grey and yellow for a more subtle glow, blue and yellow for a little excitment, yellow and pink for the girliest of brides. Yellow can fit any attitude and any brides style since it is so versatile. It is also a great color to use at any other corporate or social event since it is a bright and happy color that pairs or accents almost any other colors.
Don't want yellow as one of your main colors, use it as an accent color in flowers, prints or little pieces throughout your event. Yellow is a common color for flowers and you can find some cheap yellow flowers to add the perfect accent. I also love adding yellow ribbon to some items just to bring in the brightness. Color of the Week: Natural Light Green

This is my favorite color for weddings… it is already in my wedding album for whenever my wedding happens. It is also one of the hottest colors to use right now! Since the natural green is subtle and beautiful, it goes with many colors and can easily fit into any theme. I especially love it for an outdoor wedding with a preppy feel. I love the color with subtle blues, oranges and pinks since it complements the natural green. Pretty much what I want my wedding to be! I also love the natural green with white flowers since it is clean and simple. It looks great with wood vases and birdcages! I also love this color for any season wedding, since like I said earlier, it is so clean and versatile. Since the color is found is so many fruit, it is a great idea to incorporate that into your wedding. Using apples and pears as escort cards work well! Other natural items like limes, artichokes and grass are great accents to your wedding/event! There are so many other ways to use the green color in different variations! Be creative with the color and add it in innovative ways to your event or wedding!

Color of the Week: Fuchsia

Sorry I have not posted lately! I have been extremely busy and am actually starting a new job in 2 weeks!
After coming back from a busy weekend I cannot get my mind off an amazing color: Fuchsia. This color is so versatile and can be put into a myriad of color combinations in many different seasons. Since it is in the shades of pink and purple you can do so much with the color. It is also easy to find flowers that come in the same color range as Fuchsia. I love the color used in a romantic wedding or event with some more soft colors such as yellow and white. It is also a great color to do a "pink and black" themed wedding since it is not a harsh pink color. Fuchsia is also a great accent color since it works well with so many color combos.
I also love the color for around the house, clothing and jewelry. I love this color and I hope you do too!

Color of the Week: Teal

I love teal, it is a gorgeous mixture of blues and greens. I specifically love it since it is a great color my my skintone. With fall upon us all and winter right around the corner, I started thinking about the cooler colors of the seasons. Teal is a timeless color that works in almost all situations. It can be romantic, yet fun at the same time. Teal is also seen a lot in nature, which I love. I love the color teal with browns and lighter greens for a romantic nature wedding/event. I also love teal with bright colors such as yellow, orange, greens and pinks. Such a versatile color and so timeless and lovely. Hope you get some inspiration!

Color of the Week: Black and White

What an amazing fall day outside today in the D.C. area! I have been thinking awhile about some amazing colors, but I love the classic black and white. I especially love black and white photos they make my smile for no apparent reason. I love the simplicity of the two colors together and the classic romance that the colors represent. These colors are great for primary and secondary event/wedding colors. If you are looking for something that makes a statement, but is not TOO over the top Black and White are the answers. I love combining black and white as the primary colors with a bright secondary color to accent. Silver looks great as an accent in on the table and chairs.
Regardless of what your wedding or event colors are... you will somehow bring in great accents of black and white. If you don't want to make black and white main colors add some black and white photos into the reception space or have great black and white programs or menu cards and add a pop of your wedding color. You can also have your bridesmaid dresses black with a sash of color! Combine some great black and white into your bouquet with some colored flowers!

Color of the Week: Lilac

I am loving this fall weather...besides the rain... but I love being able to wear a light sweater and flip flops. I also love the fall colors! Leaves are already beginning to fall from the trees in an array of greens, yellows, oranges and browns. Yet for a fall wedding you don have to try and fit your colors into this scheme. I am in love with lilac this fall and winter season! It is so amazing in the softness of the purple but the boldness of it as well. There are also great flowers that have a similar purple hues, especially lilacs! Lilac, or any similar purple hue, can be a great primary or secondary color at a wedding or event. I love the lilac color with  soft greens and yellows in a vase or paired with white flowers to make the purple stand out. The purple color can be paired with bright green and blues for a spring or summer wedding as well! Or pinks with an accent of brown! The color pairs great with white, black, silver and gold, so any chairs or accessory's will look great against the lilac background.

Color of the Week: Cerulean

This color is amazing! I was browsing online stores looking for a dress to wear to a friends wedding and saw this color. Thanks to J Crew for having an amazing array of colors and the cutest dress ever...purchasing it later tonight! It was called Hazel blue... but with a wikipedia search of colors I found this similar hue and the name cerulean. Found out the name comes from the caelulum meaning "heaven, sky". This amazing dark blue yet still light blue fits perfectly with any season, epically summer and winter, and the heaven sky meaning of the color as well.

If you have seen a theme, this color will go great with any yellow or orange hue! I also love it with pink and white. I really enjoy using the blue as the main color and having some other bright colors as accent and floral colors. This blue could also be an accent color to many different main colors. I love this color by itself not just for a wedding or event but around the house as well and in clothes.

I love this color in the house as an accent and in jewelry as well... Look at some of the amazing things I found! I love the idea of using the blue vase with pink flowers in it for the centerpiece, especially this amazing round vase. This has to be one of my all time favorite colors! It is bright, yet still subtle enough.

After doing a little more research on the color found some amazing birds with cerulean in the name. They are gorgeous... goes to show you have wonderful colorful life really is...

Color of the Week: Golden Orange

One of my favorite colors for both this summer and fall season is a golden orange as I like to call it. This color is beautiful as your main color or accent colors for any wedding or event. It is bright enough to work for the summer months as well as the upcoming fall months.

Very popular right now is a yellow and blue combo, but I love adding this orange color instead of yellow 

I love this color with a shade of green. These color combinations are perfect for an outdoor wedding where you want it to be earthy. Adding in browns, tans, and other shades of greens, yellows and oranges make this color combo perfect for any occasion.

This color is great for all seasons, by changing the corresponding colors associated with it. Make it your main color, an accent, or just add it in one place at your event, this color will look perfect.
